Cat Adoption
The Whimsical Kitty Cottage is a rescue/sanctuary for any and all cats in need. We have had lots of bottle babies- some from birth- orphaned kittens, abandoned kitties, older cats, feral cats, sick and injured cats, and the occasional dog/puppy. Our goal is to find forever homes for as many kitties as possible. All cats are spayed/neutered/vaccinated prior to adoption. We are also a sanctuary for feral and unadoptable cats. We live on a small farm, and the ferals are released into our buildings after being vetted to live out their lives in peace. We provide them with food/water/shelter/medical care. We live in a very remote area, a farming community, and are the first, and only, cat rescue for hundreds of miles around. Our nearest veterinary clinic is 1.5 hrs away. Our primary focus is to save, vet, and adopt out as many kitties as possible. We have also been trying to do a little TNR work in the little town 30 minutes away, as it is overran with stray cats, and the inbreeding alone is causing a lot of issues, not to mention the many other problems that come along with an out-of-control stray cat population. We are fully self funded, although we do receive occasional donations which are so incredibly appreciated! Our food and litter bill alone is around $300 a month. Plus the medical and cleaning supplies, etc. Fuel is another huge expense, as we are constantly driving to pick up sick or orphaned kitties, visiting the vet about twice a month ( 3 hrs driving round trip each time ), and also driving to meet people for adoptions. My five children and myself take care of all the kitties. And my husband and I both work, so it’s truly a family effort and a labor of love. We currently have about 80 kitties in our care. And since we are a farm based rescue, our kitties are used to the great outdoors and the cozy indoors. Most of our kitties are rescued off the streets, or from the desert, or hoarding situations. We have many buildings and feeding stations for the kitties to utilize. A lovely yard, garden, small pond, and lots of trees for them to climb. Our buildings are heated and have straw sleeping areas for them to snuggle into, so the kitties are always comfy year round.

Our Vision
The Whimsical Kitty Cottage is trying to spearhead TNR (trap-neuter-release ) in our remote area in order to cut down on the stray cat population and create a cleaner, safer environment for both the kitties and humans. We are also spreading awareness about the importance of spaying/neutering your pets, where to find affordable pet medical, and also how to properly care for orphaned kittens and/or feral cats.
